Dr. Kenneth Liu is proud to call Alabama home.
Born and raised in Vestavia Hills, he went on to study biology at Duke University, earning his Bachelor of Science degree in 2014. He then returned to Birmingham to pursue his dental education at the University of Alabama School of Dentistry, where he earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine in 2018 and was inducted into the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon dental honor society.
Following dental school, Dr. Liu completed a three-year residency in periodontology at the University of Alabama School of Dentistry, finishing in 2021. During this time, he received both a Certificate in Periodontology and a Master of Science in Dentistry. His master’s research on bone and soft tissue augmentation won first place in the 2021 William M. Pennel Research Competition of the Southern Academy of Periodontology. Dr. Liu was later selected as a finalist in the 2022 Balint Orban Memorial Competition of the American Academy of Periodontology.
Today, Dr. Liu is board-certified in periodontology and dental implant surgery, holding Diplomate status with the American Board of Periodontology. He remains actively involved in advancing his field as a member of the American Academy of Periodontology and currently serves as President of the Alabama Society of Periodontists.
Beyond his professional achievements, Dr. Liu is passionate about building meaningful connections with his patients and the community of Northport and Tuscaloosa. Outside the office, he enjoys quality time with his wife, Elyse, along with family and friends. His other passions include traveling, playing tennis (and pickleball), and playing musical instruments.
